Week 26–News

The baby is laying on its side and I can feel its head pushing up under my ribs! It kicks all the time and I really like that feeling. We just got back from a trip to Italy where we stayed with our friends Anna and Giacomo in Orvieto, where we used to live/work.Every day and night we were at a different friends’ house for pranzo or cena (lunch or dinner). I must have eaten my body weight in cheese alone.

The weather sure has changed here, and so have my opinions about WHAT TO WEAR!! I have been wearing mostly non-maternity long sleeved shirts since the syle is long right now, and I don’t mind the close-fit. I actually prefer it to baggy, which I wasn’t sure I would back when I just felt fat, not pregnant. I have these pants that I love which also aren’t maternity, but you would never believe it because they have a roll panel that instead of rolling down, I hike up to mid-bulge. I also have decided that I don’t like my low-rise panel jeans anymore, because the panel cuts into the belly too much. I wish that they had told me that there were different styles of panel for different months. I just ordered some (gulp) full-panel jeans and some roll panel jeans to decide if they are better. Maybe I will just not like jeans for the rest of the time.

What does anyone else recommend? I really would like to have a good reference for moms-to-be as far as what to wear. I feel like I’ve had to figure it out myself.

I also can’t believe the winter coat scene (fiasco). I ordered a coat from the gap but when it came, it fit the belly NOW, but I couldn’t imagine it in 3 months fitting. I thought you were supposed to be wearing your pre-pregnancy size the whole time if you stay within a certain weight-gain range? Any thoughts?
